Sukiya, operated by Sukiya Headquarters Co., Ltd. (at the time), a subsidiary of Zensho Holdings, positioned improving the working environment in its stores as a top management priority from February 2014. To have its activities evaluated from a third-party perspective, the company established two committees: a "Third-Party Committee" and a "Workplace Environment Improvement Promotion Committee," and received frank opinions and multifaceted advice from external experts. In addition, the company established a department to promote workplace environment improvement and has been working on these initiatives.
We will continue to take further steps to make our company a place where everyone can work comfortably.
In June 2014, we transitioned from a system where all 2,000 stores nationwide were centrally managed at our Shinagawa headquarters to a system where the country is divided into seven regions, each with its own organization and management structure, allowing for more detailed management of each company.
Furthermore, in order to promote community-based operations, we manage our stores nationwide through nine branch offices, striving to stabilize store operations and improve services.
This organization meets once a month, with the COO, labor relations manager, and union representatives participating to propose solutions and provide guidance to employees who are likely to work excessive hours. This helps prevent long working hours from occurring in the first place.
Since October 2014, we have established a multi-person shift system for nighttime hours with the aim of ensuring a safe and secure working environment (strengthening security measures). As a result, stores that were unable to implement the multi-person shift system temporarily suspended nighttime operations.
Since February 2015, we have been holding "Crew Meetings," in which crew members take the initiative to exchange opinions, in cooperation with the labor union, in each of Sukiya 's districts across the country to promote more open store operations.

Based on the opinions expressed at the crew meeting, we opened the "Kagayaki Nursery School," and we are actively working to implement the ideas we have gathered.

Our group employs over 200,000 people, including full-time employees and crew members (part-time and temporary workers).
We raise our crew's hourly wages every year with the aim of maintaining and improving the living standards of all employees and improving the level of service at our stores.
