From November to December 2024, Zensho provided fair trade coffee to participants of the "Ship for Southeast Asian Youth" international exchange program, organized by the Cabinet Office.
The "Ship for Southeast Asian Youth" is a joint project between the Japanese government and the governments of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) countries, which has been running since 1974. In this year's program, approximately 160 young people from Japan and 10 Southeast Asian countries lived together on the "Ship for Southeast Asian Youth," participating in exchange activities both on board and in the countries they visited.
Zensho sponsored fair trade coffee products to support the young people participating from Japan. The coffee was provided at their homestays in Vietnam and Indonesia, as well as on board the ship.
The young people from ASEAN countries who received the fair trade coffee, as well as their host families, were surprised that the product uses coffee beans from East Timor, and after tasting the coffee, they commented that it was "easy to drink."
Zensho will continue to engage in activities that promote friendship between Japan and other countries.
