Sukiya Kitchen Car Exchange Event to be held at Hoshimi Home!

Let's create opportunities to think about the future through various experiences.

Zensho employee volunteers visited Seibi Home, a children's welfare facility in Kita Ward, Tokyo, and held a "Sukiya Kitchen Car Exchange Event."
This event aims to provide children receiving social care with an opportunity to think about their future careers and lives through various experiences and interactions with employee volunteers.

This time, in addition to serving Gyudon from a food truck, we also enjoyed workshops with elementary, middle, and high school students, such as "How Sukiya 's Gyudon Are Made."

The workshop was conducted in the form of a quiz where participants had to correctly rearrange eight different cards that depicted the process of how Gyudon are prepared and served in a restaurant. Divided into four teams, the children worked with employee volunteers to rearrange the cards in the order of growing the raw materials, cooking them, and selling them in the restaurant.
Employee volunteers introduced each step of the process, explaining that even a single bowl of Gyudon involves a variety of ingredients and different jobs.

After the workshop, we spread out sheets on the grounds under the blue sky and enjoyed freshly made Gyudon from a food truck.

After the meal, a "kitchen car tour" was also held. Participants were able to see firsthand the equipment that makes Gyudon, miso soup, and other dishes with the same quality as in the restaurants, and listened attentively to the employees' explanations about the role of the food truck as a disaster relief vehicle.

During the event, the children asked questions about gyudon (Gyudon and the work of each employee volunteer. Meeting and talking with adults they wouldn't normally interact with seemed to be a good opportunity for them to think about their future and their careers.

Going forward, Zensho Group plans to continue its social contribution activities by providing various opportunities for experiences to children who are under social care due to economic reasons or the family circumstances in which they were born, so that they can think about their future and develop self-esteem and self-confidence.
