In order to provide safe and delicious vegetables,
We thoroughly ensure safety and quality control.
Before purchasing, we visit the production area and investigate the cultivation history and pesticide use history. We verify, based on records, whether the pesticides used are approved by the government, whether the dilution ratios are correct, and whether the application rate and frequency are appropriate.
The situation in domestic production areas
In addition, we sometimes import vegetables from overseas, taking into consideration seasonality and stable supply. In such cases, in addition to rigorous selection of producers, we make every effort to ensure that we provide only vegetables that have been safely cultivated, by having employees with GAP instructor qualifications* directly provide guidance on-site to prevent errors due to differences in standards between overseas and other countries.
*GAP refers to production process management initiatives in agriculture to ensure food safety, environmental protection, and other related aspects.
Surveys and guidance in overseas production areas
Before delivering products to stores, we conduct our own tests for pesticide residues, total bacterial counts, coliform bacteria, E. coli, Staphylococcus aureus, and other microorganisms to ensure safety.
After removing the cores and discolored parts of the vegetables, they are cut to the specified size. Dirt and other contaminants are thoroughly removed from the vegetables using a bubbling (water flow) washing method. After that, foreign objects are removed. Light is shone from below, and discoloration, foreign objects, and insects are checked by human eyes and carefully removed. Checking in a translucent state makes it easier to spot foreign objects.
After sorting, the products are washed in a sterilization tank. Then, they are thoroughly rinsed to ensure no sterilizing components remain. Finally, the water is drained, and the products are hygienically packaged at a low temperature. After packaging, they are passed through a metal detector to prevent contamination by foreign objects.
